Enuresis alarms are electronic devices that provide an alert when a resident is incontinent either by notifing caregivers of an event, while others are meant to alert and wake residents themselves when the first sign of moisture is detected. These devices typically consist of a moisture-detecting sensor, which is connected to an alerting device. Sensors can take several forms including probes that are placed in undergarments, undergarment pads, and moisture absorbing bed pads as well as larger sensor pads that are placed under the sheets of the resident's bed. Several types of alerts can be provided including audible, flashing lights, and vibrating alerts.
