Hydraulic sling lifts are mobile hoists that are manually pumped to raise a resident from one surface and maneuvered into place, where a pressure valve is released to lower the resident onto a chair, bathtub, bed, or other surface. These lifts can also lift a resident who has fallen to the floor.
Hydraulic sling lifts are typically available with two base configurations, a “U” base and “C” base. The “U” base lifters may be of the fixed type or adjustable, allowing the base of the lift to be spread wider, providing stability and maneuverability around chairs and other obstacles.
Mobile sling lifts utilize a sling or harness to support residents as they are lifted. Manufacturers typically offer their own line of slings to be used with their lifts.
