Similar to tub and shower chairs, transfer benches provide a seating surface during showering. They also extend over the side of the tub to facilitate transfers and eliminate the need to step over the side of the tub while standing. Most of these devices come in the form of benches with legs. However, legless models that are secured to the side of the tub (sometimes called bath boards) are also available.
